Transportation
Air cargo booking process: accepting the owner's inquiry → accepting the owner's entrustment → booking → warehousing → customs declaration → confirmation and modification of bill of lading → expense settlement. Next, we will elaborate on each link in detail to help you understand the work
1. Accept the owner's inquiry
Generally speaking, the cargo owner needs to provide the following details for inquiry: 1. Destination airport; 2. Port of departure airport; 3. Gross weight and volume of goods; 4. Shipping time or delivery time; 5. Freight settlement method; 6. Name of goods and whether there are special requirements
2. Accept the entrustment of the owner
After both parties have settled all matters, the consignor needs to provide the consignment power of attorney. After receiving the consignment note, the freight forwarder will carefully review the consignment note, mainly check whether the basic information is complete, and confirm the receipt and delivery time and delivery method
3. Booking space
After receiving the consignor's entrustment, the freight forwarder will select the appropriate route and flight time to book space at the carrier according to the consignor's requirements
4. Warehousing
There are two kinds of Warehousing: picking up by freight forwarder and delivering goods by the owner. If the owner delivers goods by himself, the freight forwarder will provide the warehousing notice in advance, informing the warehousing number and delivery address. If it is necessary to pick up goods by freight forwarder, it is necessary to provide the delivery address and delivery time in advance, confirm the delivery fee, and then operate
5. Customs declaration
The consignor shall provide the data required for customs declaration: the corresponding packing list, invoice, customs declaration power of attorney and other documents (at present, all customs across the country implement paperless declaration, and the customer shall sign a paperless agreement with the customs online), which shall be submitted to the customs broker to declare to the Customs together with the freight bill. After the customs review is correct, the goods shall be released and the customs declaration formalities shall be completed
6. Confirmation and modification of bill of lading
The freight forwarder will need to confirm the accuracy of the contents and information of the bill of lading with the customer, and issue the bill of lading after confirmation. If the contents of the bill of lading need to be modified after this confirmation, certain expenses will be incurred
7. Expense settlement
The expense settlement shall be based on the settlement method agreed by both parties. In case of cash settlement, the freight shall be paid in advance by the cargo owner, and then the goods shall be delivered to the carrier for transportation. If both parties sign a monthly settlement agreement, the unified settlement shall be made according to the settlement time agreed by both parties
